| Lawrence U. Haspel, DO, FACC, FACOI, is Sr. Vice President of the Metropolitan Chicago Healthcare Council. He was appointed to the position of Senior Vice President, MCHC effective January 1, 1997. He is Director of Section of Cardiology and Professor of Medicine at Midwestern University/Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Haspel also serves as Vice Chairman of the Bureau of of Healthcare Facilities Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association. Previous positions include: Executive Vice President, Midwestern University (MWU), Executive Vice President (CEO) of Chicago Osteopathic Hospitals and Medical Centers, President of the Midwest Physician Group (formerly known as Chicago Osteopathic Medical Practice Plan), Vice President for the MWU Ambulatory Care System, Dean of Postdoctoral Education for the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, Chairman of the Board of the Midwest Physician Group, President of Association of Osteopathic Directors of Medical Education, President of Cardiovascular Specialty College of the American College of Osteopathic Internists, Chairman of the Board of Illinois Hospital and Health Systems Association, and Chairman of the Boardfor MCHC. Dr. Haspel was appointed to three consecutive terms and served for three years as Vice Chair of the distinguished Federal Council on Graduate Medical Education. |
