| Donald W. Aaronson, MD, JD, MPH, is Medical Director of Patient Safety at Advocate Health Care. Dr. Aaronson is currently involved in many areas of Patient Safety including participating in the implementation of a culture of safety for Advocate Health Care. He has directed a year-long initiative to reduce Patient Injury in Labor and delivery and is currently replicating this project in Emergency Departments. He is the primary lecturer in Medicine and Law at the Rosalind Franklin School of Medicine in the Med Cor program for junio Medical Students. He spent school year 2002-2003 as a student at the Harvard School of Public Health with a focus on Patient Safety. He has developed educational programs for physicians under the auspices of the Harvard Risk Management Foundation and preceptored with the Medical Director for Patient Safety for Brigham and Womens Hospital . As part of this project he worked on Medication Reconciliation and did an independent study of incorrect injections in Allergists offices which resulted in a paper published in 2004. |
