Adam L. Scheffler, MA, LSW, is a health policy analyst, journalist, and social worker. While a member of the CPSF Steering Committee from 2002-2006, he also served on the Professional Council, the Rules and Structure Committee, the 2003 and 2005 Annual Meeting Committees, and the Communications Committee. Mr. Scheffler wrote a regular column about online safety resources for Quality & Safety in Health Care in 2002-2003. He was lead author of "A Collection of Definitions," reprinted in Medical Error: What Do We Know? What Do We Do? (Jossey-Bass, 2002) and originally published in Lessons in Patient Safety (National Patient Safety Foundation, 2001). He was Editor of Proceedings of Enhancing Patient Safety and Reducing Errors in Health Care (National Patient Safety Foundation, 1999) and was Project Manager for that 1998 conference in Rancho Mirage, California (also known as the "Annenberg II" conference). Mr. Scheffler has worked as a broadcast journalist in New York, Chicago, Pittsburgh, and Washington, DC. He is a graduate of DePaul University and the School of Social Service Administration at the University of Chicago , and earned a Certificate in Aging from the Institute for Geriatric Social Work of the Boston University School of Social Work in 2005. |
