"This workshop will illustrate the experience of a team developing an important community outreach effort on patient safety and empower hospital staff, public librarians and consumers to get involved!
Speakers will provide an introduction to patient safety issues and information tools, illustrate the value of partnerships between public librarians and hospitals, and provide a model process for patient educators, hospital and public librarians and members of the community who wish to organize programs on patient safety and other healthcare topics. Additional training on the National Library of Medicine's consumer-oriented database, MedlinePlus will also be held."
